On April 30, 2018, the Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) unveiled a new seal.  The backdrop of the seal is a photograph taken by Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell attorney Nick DiMascio, who spent seven years working in the ENRD Appellate Section before joining the Firm.

The photo features a view of Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve from Willow Lake in Alaska.  Acting Assistant Attorney General of ENRD, Jeffrey Wood, wrote in a letter that the seal “is meant to convey a sense of respect for the Division’s mission within the broader Department of Justice (DOJ) family, especially our role in the conservation of public lands and natural resources, as well as the protection of clean water and clean air.”
