The Denver Post and local news station 9News recently published articles about an unusual land-for-construction exchange under which the City of Lakewood will take title to approximately 60 acres of land near the corner of 6th Avenue and Union Avenue and the RTD Federal Center station for transit-oriented redevelopment in exchange for constructing a new laboratory facility at the Federal Center for the General Services Administration. The Firm represents the City of Lakewood in negotiating the terms of the exchange agreement and associated City agreements and in entity formation necessary to accomplish the exchange with the General Services Administration. The City Council was expected to vote on the land exchange deal on October 26, 2015, but the vote was postponed.
