Rebecca’s practice focus is litigation of all kinds—whether before judicial or administrative bodies, or in the local, state, or federal arenas. Rebecca has experience litigating a wide array of disputes, but primarily works on cases involving state or federal environmental laws. In addition to litigation, Rebecca assists clients with regulatory compliance, permitting, and pre-litigation matters.
Prior to joining Kaplan Kirsch, Rebecca clerked for Chief Justice Brian D. Boatright at the Colorado Supreme Court, where she assisted the court in drafting opinions, prepared for and observed oral arguments, and researched and made recommendations on petitions for certiorari. During law school, Rebecca interned for the Honorable Judge Christine M. Arguello at the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, at the Rocky Mountain Earthjustice office, and for Western Resource Advocates as a Healthy Rivers intern. In prior private practice, Rebecca represented local governments in intergovernmental disputes, private landowners in land use matters, and other private clients in a variety of civil disputes.
Prior to law school, Rebecca gained significant exposure to litigation practice first as a paralegal at a Boulder law firm assisting with domestic matters, and later as a trial assistant for the trial division of the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. These early experiences inform Rebecca’s litigation practice today.
